I suppose being very organized can be a great way of compartmentalizing the chaos of creativity.

Thanks for the post--very useful.LARCHMONThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07484862915577134235noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508369164614552428.post-51728176598268998382010-11-26T18:07:46.741-05:002010-11-26T18:07:46.741-05:00Angela, Lists are good. It's better to feel good about accomplishing a small amount and wonderful about accomplishing more than planned, than to go down in the dumps because you didn't get half of what you wanted done.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508369164614552428.post-83891090924099977892010-11-26T11:17:15.938-05:002010-11-26T11:17:15.938-05:00I totally agree with this. I find that making a list of my writing goals at the start of the week helps me stay on track and the more accomplished I feel, the more productive I am.

Angela @ The Bookshelf MuseAngela Ackermanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01808259088625142389noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508369164614552428.post-67778460179523618872010-11-24T17:32:13.289-05:002010-11-24T17:32:13.289-05:00Susanne, great to hear I'm not alone. Even on my days off from my regular job, I can't seem to pull that off.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508369164614552428.post-34240619455210093402010-11-24T10:52:46.688-05:002010-11-24T10:52:46.688-05:00Interesting post. I need to learn to say no sometimes or ask for help/delegate things so I have more time for writing. I'm really bad about sticking to schedules, so I need to work on that too.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508369164614552428.post-60867706016555107942010-11-23T18:13:36.609-05:002010-11-23T18:13:36.609-05:00Janel, thanks for following. I guess my solution is no schedule at all, just sit down and get to writing.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3508369164614552428.post-41050440545223603882010-11-23T17:20:34.573-05:002010-11-23T17:20:34.573-05:00I find that often if I turn the TV on, even when I...I find that often if I turn the TV on, even when I'm just doing it for background noise, I lose my focus and sometimes just stop writing to watch TV. Listening to Pandora is a much better way for me to get writing done.

As far as squeezing in writing time - practice makes perfect! The more I do it, day by day, the better I get at fitting it in.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00823616282284779390noreply@blogger.com
