Happy Father's Day!

My dad left this world fifteen years ago. He remains in my heart. He's thought of often.

"Dad, I feel you watching over me. I love you and hope you have a Happy Father's Day. You may not have been the best dad in the world, but you were mine. I chose you for the lessons I needed in my early years. So, thank you and may your soul be happy in the arms of Heaven."

A warm Happy Father's Day to all fathers out there, both in Heaven and on Earth.

My Pappa was not the best either. He suffered PTSD from having been a prisoner of war in a German Camp after being captured while in occupied Holland during WWII. He got very sick and almost didn't live. And my mother almost died during the Hunger Winter there. They both suffered effects and didn't have much to give us kids while we were babies or after. but they were the only parents I had.

Happy Father's Day, Pappa! <3

It's always hard to lose a parent. I think about my father every day too.

Doing that and holding our fathers in our hearts, and remembering what they taught us is what we can and should do.

This is a beautiful post. I lost my dad 10 years ago and it is still tough when people ask me about him. But I agree, it doesn't matter that dad's might not be perfect, but they were our dads.
