Rejection

My short story, 'Friends Forever' has been rejected by Shock Totem. I received a form letter at the beginning of this month for my February Submission.

If nothing else, they are true to their two month response time.

They reject a lot of people. I see their rejections all the time on Duotrope. Don't worry, send it somewhere else! If you want me to read it and come up with other places that it will fit, I will :)

Aubrie, You are such a dear. This isn't the first rejection for this story. So, you may determine that it is unpublishable. Course you may be able to give me some pointers.

I've sent it to your email. I appreciate the help.

Stay positive Cher. : )

Shock Totem is very finicky. They've rejected both stories I sent to them too. I'd try somewhere else.

There are so many editors out there, tastes can run so different. I'm sure you'll find a place for it.

Susanne, Thanks, I will.

A. R. I believe this is the first I've sent them. I have a chart to keep up with such things, but not looking at it right now.

Lynn, Very true and I will eventually. It is one of my favorite stories and also my first actual complete story.

Review the story, and if it still looks good to you, send it out to another market.

It's very competitive out there, trying to get short fiction accepted for publication.

I've had some stories rejected 5 or so times before finding a home, so don't give up.

Terry, thanks for the encouraging words. No plans for giving up.

I am glad you don't give up.

I believe it's the one thing that may separate aspiring writer from author - you can't give up.
